At the beginning of May Lincoln, Kort and I flew back to Utah so Lincoln could meet everyone that still hadn't seen him in person. By this point the only people who had seen him in person had been Grandpa (my dad), Grandma (my mom), Nana (Chad's mom), Gunka (Chad's dad), and my Grandpa and Grandma Jenkins. Everyone else had only seen pictures of our cut guy!
So we got ready for the trip back to Utah! I prepared mentally because I was about to make the trip alone with a baby and a dog!
Now back to when we first planned to go to Utah. My initial plan was to surprise my family with when I was coming! They had no clue and I did really good at keeping it a secret! The night before I left my mother in law (bless her heart) was confirming our plan and accidentally texted me on a group message that included my parents! But it worked out in the end because then my dad came and picked us up from the airport since he was in Salt Lake for work and then I was able to still surprise everyone else with our arrival!
Now back to the plane ride. I was very concerned about the plane ride because I was alone and had a baby and a dog. I was worried that Lincoln was going to cry and that Kort would have a hard time as well and didn't know how I would handle that. Chad dropped us off at the airport and I had a guy help take my bags in to the line I needed to be at. We checked in and headed to security!
Security was going to be interesting because I didn't know how I was going to do it. I knew I had to carry both the baby and the dog through the metal detector. When I got to security I put everything on the belt to be checked and asked how they wanted me to do this with the dog and the baby. They told me I couldn't walk through twice so I had to carry them both through at the same time. Everyone working had quite the laugh and couldn't figure out which was cuter. The dog or the baby.
Now it was time to fly! I had help getting on to the plane which was so nice! Lincoln fell asleep as soon as we took off and he was asleep for pretty much that whole flight. I had a gentleman ask if he could help carry something off the plane which was so helpful. On the second flight the stewardis helped carry Kort on and I have a woman and her mom offer to help me if needed even if I just needed someone to hold Lincoln while I went to the bathroom. She made sure I knew where she was sitting as well. When that plane landed I had another gentleman offer to help carry something out for me. I was so blessed with all of the people that offered to help me on those flight and I couldn't begin to tell them how appreciative I was of them it definitely made my trip that much easier and less stressful!
We had finally arrived in Utah and I couldn't wait to get to my parent's house and surprise my family! My sweet dad met us at the baggage claim and got to be the first one to see Lincoln upon arriving in Utah! Lincoln talked and smiled at him and my dad looked like the proudest grandpa in that airport while I grabbed the bags off the carousel!
After an hour drive we also finally made it to my parent's house! Now comes the surprise!
(I was so caught up in being nervous about everything I forgot to take pictures! But there are more posts with more stories and pictures!)
