Just a warning this one is a little long because I'm catching up on 2 months of stuff (hard to blog with a baby). Pictures are at the end of the post!
April 22nd my baby boy's 2 month birthday! I cannot believe how fast time flies and that he is growing up so fast already! Being a mom has its challenges but it is awesome and in ways so rewarding. Being able to wake up to my beautiful baby boy every morning and know that Chad and I created this miracle is a gift. These last 2 months have been packed with everything imaginable. We have had Lincoln's first 3 doctor's appointment, physical therapy for the little guy, and tons of new and great experiences.

2 Months Old
At the first appointment the doctor found that he was very healthy. He had gained what he lost at the hospital back and then some and also grew a little in length as well. He weighed 10 pounds 2 ounces and was 22 inches long. The doctor was surprised at his size and told me that I most likely will not be going over my due date for my future babies (thank heavens for that). She gave him a clean bill of health and said to let him sleep as much as he would at night (not having to wake him up to feed him was so nice). You could imagine my excitement that I could sleep as long as he wanted. Up until about a week and a half ago he was sleeping in a car seat placed in his crib (that was the only way he would sleep longer than a couple hours). He slept for 7 to 8 hours a night since he was a week old (so nice). I really can't complain much because he hardly ever fussed to the point where I couldn't console him, he ate really well, and he slept really well! There were only a couple rough nights which is better than most babies!
When Lincoln was 3 weeks old Chad went on a trip to Honduras. Before he left we noticed that his head was still not going back to normal and that he wouldn't lay his head on his right side. Chad looked up the symptoms and with the doctor in him started taking guesses on a possible diagnosis. We didn't worry too much about it at the time. Trudy came to stay with me and Lincoln to help out while Chad was gone. I know she thinks she didn't help too much because she was a little sick while here but what she did do was very helpful and I am grateful for her help. While Chad was gone I tried sleeping Lincoln in the crib and he woke up every 2 hours which was rough for me to go to that after him sleeping so good for the first few weeks. So I reverted back to the car seat. I swear Lincoln grew a ton in the week Chad was gone. He was focusing a lot more on moving objects and giving us smiles here and there when we talked to him.
When Chad got back Lincoln was still refusing to lay his head on his right side so Chad told me to make an appointment to make sure we caught whatever it was early. We ended up going to the doctors with a list of concerns (I guess that's normal for first time parents). When I took Lincoln to the doctors she said that he had a little bit of what is called Torticollis also known as wry neck. It basically means that one of the muscles in his neck was damaged a little at birth and is now tight making it uncomfortable to lay his head on the right side. So naturally he laid his head in the most comfortable position. The doctor referred us to a physical therapist so we could get some stretches that would help with this condition and reassured us that he most likely would not have to have surgery to fix the problem (what a relief). All of our other concerns were also eased and most of the concerns we had were things to not worry about at this time. We have been so lucky to have a healthy baby!
Since we found out Lincoln has a little bit of torticollis we have had 2 physical therapy appointments and one on the way. The first one went well and he just protested a lot but didn't really cry. The second one didn't go so well. He cried a lot and did not like what was going on. We also did a longer session so it was a lot more rough on him. I wish I could just help him understand it is in his best interest and for his own good that we are doing this. I have also learned stretches for Lincoln to do at home. He doesn't really like them and really protests to me more than the physical therapist. We will just take it one step at a time.
Lincoln now talks up a storm and lifts his head like a champ but still has a hard time stabilizing it without help. He brings so much joy in our lives! Here are just a few pictures of him taken by Ellen Stokes & Alli Hearn (a couple awesome girls in our ward)!
Kort is doing so good with sharing his parents! We love him!
Next big thing in our lives will be the plane ride back to Utah! Call me crazy but I will be flying with a dog (Kort) and a baby (Lincoln).......wish me luck!! Utah here we come!
