Good times in Minneapolis!

This weekend we decided to go to Minneapolis! Neither of us had been and we thought it would be fun.

On the way there we drove through the worst rain storm we had ever been in. It was scary and we ended up slowing down to well below the speed limit and considered pulling over a couple times. It was probably 45 minutes of our drive as well. Scary!!

Once we got into Minneapolis we found our hotel and checked it. Once we checked in we relaxed for a minute to help Kort relax. Then we were off to the Mall of America! It was the biggest mall we both had ever been in! There really are roller coasters in the mall as well! We went on 2 each and took turns watching Lincoln. They were actually pretty fun!

We visited the Peep and Mike n Ike store and tried a few different flavors of mike n ikes and hot tamales!

Chad helped put together a piece for a lego ninja turtle!

Chad wanted to do a ropes course that was there so I waited at the bottom and watched as he worked his way to the very top! I got the best pictures I could with my phone! My mom and Trudy would not have liked watching him do that at all! He said it was quite the rush up there and had a good time!

After we had our fun we went to dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp! Then got desert at Cold Stone! Then we explored a little bit of the mall where we saw a really cool logo display that were cities shaped in the shape of the state! So cool! Definitely a very fun mall!

The next day we went to an annual event held at Lake Calhoun called the Aquatenial! They had a sand castle competition!

Raced boats made of milk cartons!

And had tons of booths! We played in the water as a family and even Kort was swimming around with us! It was a lot of fun seeing the creativity with the milk carton boats and the sand castles!

After we had had enough we headed to another part of the lake and grabbed some dinner/lunch at a local fish place. We sat on a patio that went over the water and had some of the best chicken tenders I've ever had and Chad loved his tilapia taco!

It was such a fun trip and we really enjoyed the time as a family! It keeps amazing me how good Lincoln is on these trips! We definitely are spoiled!
