Oh my gosh how time does fly!! I cannot believe that I have a 1 year old already. It seems like just yesterday we were coming home from the hospital feeling every emotion possible but looking forward to the journey ahead of us as parents. Our life has been so blessed having Lincoln and I wouldn't change that for the world. He has grown so much in the first year of his life and is already a very smart, strong willed kid (heaven help me!). I don't know if we could love him anymore than we do right now! He brings joy and peace into our home and reminds us of the innocence that we all used to have. He is also teaching me a great deal of patience and how to slow down in life.
Kort is still getting used to him but it is a good thing Lincoln has progressed slowly in the moving stage so that Kort has time to adjust to each stage. Right now Lincoln can crawl anywhere he pleases and even tries to climb up on the couch. There are few places that Kort feels safe and is constantly on watch for Lincoln. With that being said he sure does love his little brother ;)! He likes to play with him every once in a while which is good. I will hear him barking and turn around to see Kort bouncing around Lincoln and barking at him while Lincoln just stares at him with a big smile on his face and occasionally lets out a squeal (sometimes sounds like he is tried to bark too).
Lincoln has been able to be around a lot more kids lately and he loves it. He loves to play and interact with them.
He is a big time flirt and there are a few girls that can ALWAYS make him smile! (I need to get a picture of these girls with him)
Like I mentioned earlier in this post, Lincoln now crawls all over. Up until a week before his birthday he just did a really skilled army crawl. Then he decided that he could crawl on his hands and knees as well. (at first it looked really silly)
He gets into EVERYTHING!!! Luckily he has picked up on "no" pretty quickly or else I would be in big trouble.
He loves bath time. I think that is really the only thing that just makes him completely calm.
He has started to snuggle a lot more now.
He absolutely loves his dad. Whenever he sees him he lets out a big squeal and starts talking to him. (this melts Chad's heart)
He is a showoff. Whenever on Skype or just being around people he wants to be the center of attention and will showoff any chance he gets.
He loves looking out our windows on our doors. Especially when Kort is outside.
His favorite foods are quesadillas, fruit snacks, mac and cheese, and he still occasionally likes his baby treats.
He loves music and dancing. Whenever we are watching a show as soon as the theme song comes on he stops what he is doing and starts dancing. He also likes to listen to me sing (I think). Every time I do he looks at me and shakes his head (I think I shake my head when I sing so he mimics me).
He hates having his diaper changed. I have had to become very creative and quick with this process.
He loves people watching and he loves to be outside. (can't wait for warm weather so we can get out of the house more often)
He figured out the couch is super fun and he wants to climb on it any chance he gets and he can actually get on it himself!
Family arrived the day he turned one to celebrate! We did the traditional and popular cake smashing! Lincoln didn't like smashing the cake. I tried to help by pushing his hand in the cake and he then he wouldn't use that hand at all! But he still was happy and loving having all eyes on him! I love him so much and am so blessed to be this little ham's momma!
