Thanksgiving and 9 Month Old Boy!

Thanksgiving was definitely different this year. We didn't have ANY family at all out here in Iowa and we were sooo bummed that we weren't able to make it back to Utah to participate in our friend's sealing :(. But needless to say we made the best of it with our "family" out here! We didn't really have much of a Thanksgiving break with Chad still studying because he had a test the following Monday but he did find time to spend with us.

We actually had 2 thanksgivings! We had one at the church that was put on by a couple in our ward that have been out of residency for a little bit now and knows how it is to be in Medical school. They donated all the turkeys and had a movie room, volley ball, these cool swivel ride things, and a puzzle (mom would have loved that part). There were a few of the families that are in school there and then a couple families already working in the medical field there as well. It was so fun. We ate some really good food, got to know the families a little bit better, played with Lincoln, and I even participated in the puzzle (made me miss my mom)! Lincoln got hauled around by a few of the kids there (I'm pretty sure I found my babysitters) they just love him and it was kind of nice I didn't ever ask them to take him they just did! Even their 17 year old boy took him for a little bit! It was so much fun!

After dinner and hanging out we went back home and I got ready to head out to go black Friday shopping with Corrin and Michelle. Corrin is a vet black shopper and Michelle and I are more a steer clear type :) but it was a lot of fun. We went to Walmart first and we split up. Michelle took DVDs, Corrin took Wii games, and I took PJs and anything else I could get my hands on! We went for the 6 o'clock sale and it was like a ripple effect across the store when the clock hit 6. People started ripping the caution tape down and making a bee line for the things on their list. When it happened around me I at first just stood there kind of confused at what was happening until I realize that I should be grabbing things too! It was quite the rush but I definitely didn't get stuck in the really pack areas fighting for things (that was where Corrin and Michelle were). But moving through the aisles was a chore and I swear I hit so many people with my cart! I had a great time and it was so fun being able to be out with the girls!

Our second thanksgiving was a the Sorenson's home. It was a more intimate setting with just the Jaramillos, Hydes, Sorensons, and us there. It was a ton of fun just conversing with our friends and again indulging in some pretty darn good food! But our families back in Utah were greatly missed!

Now the month of November mean that my baby was turning 9 months old! I cannot believe how fast time has flown! He is so big and just keeps growing every day. At his 9 month check up he was 22.5 pounds, 18 inches long and still has a pretty big head. He is in the 99th percentile for head and weight but is just average when it comes to height.
-He still isn't crawling but has definitely showed more interest in being on his belly and kinda scoots backwards. He tries really hard to get that belly off the ground but he doesn't get it off the ground for more than a few seconds.

-He waves, makes all sorts of noise, and wants to talk ALL the time. Let's just say that dad no longer studies at home unless Lincoln is asleep because he can't concentrate.
-He absolutely loves Kort and one night figured out that he can play with him. It was the cutest thing in the world and it got Lincoln laughing so hard (Kort was such a good sport).

-His favorite person is Addy. Whenever we see her he gets so excited and happy and just laughs.
-He loves going and saying hi to daddy in his office (there is just so much to play with in there).
-He loves toys but I've had to resort in giving him kitchen things because his toys just aren't as interesting anymore.
-He loves his Baby Einstein movies. You try to get in his way he will try his best to shove you out of the way!

Oh and he is a good tantrum thrower already. Ugh.....save me now lol! But he is still as happy as can be and he is definitely a social bug (smiles at anyone pretty much).
He has 2 teeth and is learning how to use them. He loves to try to bite mommy already.

He loves bath time and has recently decided he loves to splash! We officially have a splash zone in our bathroom.

Now here are some more pics! Love this boy to death!

Kort will sit there forever watching him eat his magic pops. Lincoln will attempt to share but of course he doesn't know what to do!

This is the new way to ride in a grocery kart!

Playing in daddy's ice water!
